Hi ,

My name is Doug Post, married to Debbie for 16 years - no children. I am 42 years old and currently preaching for the church in Vernon, CT.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Marlborough, Connecticut, which was a farming town of about 2000. Now the town is a "bedroom community" of wealthy people. Almost all the farms are gone now. I grew up in a Christian home, members of the church of Christ. I have 3 brothers. Mom & Dad helped establish the church here back in the 1950's. In fact, Pat Boone visited with them in the late 50's, early 60's.

How did you come to be interested in spiritual things?

I couldn't help but be inluenced in a Christian home! Also, I had wonderful Bible class teachers and a terrific preacher who preached for the congregation some 32 years.

Do you have any affiliation to a particular church, person, document, etc.?

I am a member/preacher of the church of Christ. Also, I am a Dallas Cowboys fan and have been all my life.

What spiritual topics are the current focus of your thoughts and studies?

Salvation through Jesus Christ, which is our (the world's) greatest need; being made righteous/justified by the blood of Christ; abiding in the word of Christ; following Christ - obeying Christ; working for Christ, His cause, and His church.

For what are you looking on the forums? Why are you here?

Edification, Christian interaction, learning, growing. Getting to know new people/brethren. To get a feel for what others are saying, teaching, and thinking.

Do you have personal goals you wish to accomplish on the forums? Do you have any topics that you consider important, which you wish to discuss with others?

See above. All Bible topics and Bible discussion is a good thing.
