Re: My Friends Tigger & Pooh
LOL! I've noticed lots of new icons. Talking about a bear, maybe would be more appropriate in this thread.

Re: My Friends Tigger & Pooh
I actually assumed you were a teenager. ;) You sound like many of my students have in the past. Thanks for the apology. I'm glad you're learning, and I know that learning to admit wrong is something that many people never learn, no matter how long they've been a "Christian". I could tell by your zea...

Re: Funerals & Weddings
(How annoying! I made my post and then lost it. Grrr!!! Let's try this again!) The purpose of a wedding is to join two people in front of friends and family. The purpose of the Lord's money is to spread the Gospel to a lost & dying world. Sure, there is reference made to God's plan for marriage and ...

Agreed!m273p15c wrote:... How can one use the treasury to conduct weddings and funerals, ... without also justifying schools, hospitals, and other missions of mixed social and spiritual missions using the same reasoning? ... Ultimately, my question is, "Where is the authority?"

Re: Woman teaching high school age boys?
I agree with the previous comments. Timothy was taught by women, but when he bacame a man, he was under the wing of Paul. There are some things that a woman simply can't teach because she's never done it. Public preaching is one of them. There are a great many things I'll have to teach my two boys b...

If I were you, I would keep your son away from Disney! I assume you don't have any children? I won't be keeping him away from Disney by any means. In fact, my husband and I will be at Disney World again next week (yes, 30-somethings still have a childhood. We go every few years. ). I'll just...

I also agree. I'm one of those people who never questioned it because that's the way "it's always been." When I moved to Texas, I heard a sermon by Jim Everett discussing the points you've already discussed and realized just how erroneous my thinking was. It makes me wonder if there are other areas ...

I agree with your thoughts. We've become so accustomed to hearing things like this (and much worse) on so-called "wholesome" family shows, that we often ignore it. I'm guilty of saying silly things like those myself without considering the real meaning. My son (almost 2 years old) is absolutely in l...
