In Acts 2:38 and 41 it reads that they were baptized but in Acts 2:44 it reads that all who had "believed" were together. Believed encapsulates that they had repented and had been baptized.

That refers to water baptism. The text in question though is Ephesians 4:5 and that is talking about being baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Believe can be a synecdoche for confession and repentance. It encapsulates both of them. Ephesians 1:13 reads after one "believes" they are sealed with the Holy Spirit. Again "believe" is a synecdoche that would include the fact that they had confessed and repented.

Did Paul believe that one could be justified by the Law as he stated in Galatians 5:4 even though he just wrote that this is impossible (Galatians 2:16)?

Cornelius was not saved before Peter met him. He shall tell you words whereby you will be saved. "Will be" means he is not saved now. Otherwise you have him saved then saved.

There might be some in this church, as there are in other churches, who are mere nominal Christians. They may have made a declaration that they trusted in Christ but their true colors are showing in that they never really did trust in Christ but are in fact trusting in the Law.

Yes you can remove yourself from fellowship (not salvation as shown from the passages I originally gave) with God and the text you cited correlates well with James 1:15 and 1 Corinthians 11:30. Continued unrepentant sin may be a cause for a premature death of the Christian.
