Born in Sin! Regenerated from what?

Post by JSM17 » Sun Jan 28, 2007 1:29 am

The word that needs to be taken with some thought is the word "REGENERATION"

If we are regenerated, then this implies that we were at one time at a state of degeneration, which implies that we were generate at one point.

But if we are born or conceived depraved, full of sin, seperated from God, born degenerate, then how can we be regenerated from a degenerate state if we had never been generated in the first place?
...in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power...

Dear JSM:

Interesting thought on regeneration. Always just took it a degenerated person needed to be regenerated.

So one is generated the moment God "forms the spirit" in the unborn embryo. (Zechariah 12:1) At some point when the child matures, becomes accountable for sin, one becomes degenerated. One remains degenerated until one sees the truth of the scriptures, the salvation that one has thru Christ, hears, believes, confesses Christ, and is baptized, born again, regenerated by the Holy Spirit thru the death of Jesus Christ and resurrection of Christ, Christ blood. Saved.

Anything to add or change?

God Bless,
