I can see how you might feel that way, if you believe that Christianity is a lie and baseless myth used to scam the world. But, what if Jesus really did live a perfect life, fulfill ancient prophecy, die innocently on the cross, rise from the dead, return to heaven, and establish the church as His earthly kingdom?

There are many things that can be said about the past by the way people want to view history.

Just because it can be said, that does not make it true. As you observed, it too often depends upon a person's desire. Ultimately, people who find the truth, succeed in part because they desire truth above all else.
