Secular Pastimes
Are secular pastimes okay?
For example, I feel like by definition, a "Christian board game" is a board game that has lots of Bible and religious-related stuff. But here's an example of board game I like to play with my family: "The New Yorker Cartoon Caption Game."

We come up with silly and usually completely random captions and laugh our heads off. This has absolutely nothing to do with the Bible. In fact, if it did, I don't think I would like it, because I don't like to laugh at things that are Holy, because, to me, it would be blasphemous.
(I've actually been offended a number of times by VeggieTales when I've felt that God's name isn't being treated with the utmost respect. For instance, when Bob gets annoyed because Larry is singing "And God has a lot to say in his book." But don't get me wrong, I love that show!)
So as long as something like that isn't overdone, isn't it okay to do something completely unrelated to the Bible, even if you are a Christian?
Oh wait, and just so you know, I'm one of the teenagers in the family, not one of the adults. Like I said on a different thread, I'm in no position to be teaching. I'm posting this with a "is this right?" sort of attitude, not a "This is right" sort of attitude.

Come on, you twenty-eight viewers, surely you have something to say!
Anyway, today's "Argyle Sweater" is an excellent illustration of what I meant: (June 30th, 2010)
