Confused - Are you teaching we can lose our salvation?

As was implied by John, knowing that we have eternal life is closely related to our continued belief in Jesus (I John 5:13); therefore, it is critical that we establish a firm basis for justifying assurance in our own salvation; otherwise, we may truly lose that which we fear to have already lost.(Quote from "How Can I Know I Am Saved?")

It sounds as if you are saying one can lose his salvation; is that what is being said? In order for a person to fear losing his or her salvation, he or she had to have thought that he or she had salvation at some point. How then can a person lose his or her salvation if they thought they had it at some point? That is not in line with "once saved, always saved". I hope I conveyed my confusion clearly and that you will respond as soon as possible.

You are correct. My statements from this article:

Are not consistent with "once saved, always saved", because I believe that doctrine is inconsistent with the Scriptures.

Please look over these two articles, and let me know what you think:

http://www.insearchoftruth.org/articles ... aints.html

These two articles demonstrate the contradiction between that doctrine and the Bible.

Thank you for your question and providing me an opportunity to respond. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

May God help us to have a sincere love of the truth,
